Julie Paris is a Raleigh-based editor with a passion for helping authors to shape their book manuscripts into Warm Blanket Books, the kind of books you reach for when you want to sit down in your favorite chair, cuddle up with a blanket, and go on a memorable literary adventure.
Raised in beautiful Asheville, North Carolina, she graduated with distinction from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she double majored in Spanish and communication studies. Julie went on to earn her juris doctor at the UNC School of Law. After five years as a civil rights litigator, she found herself longing for a career that would allow her to showcase her artistic creativity and further nurture her love for fantastic writing, gorgeous diction, and the beauty of a well-told story.
She dove headfirst into the editing world, working as an acquisition and line editor for Literary Wanderlust. Simultaneously, she served as a proofreader with Joffe Books in London, reviewing their books as a last stop before publishing. She continues to reach out to writers and other editors alike, inspired by and learning from each artist. She is intensely devoted to the literary world and the people in it, and she is grateful for each opportunity to help an author reach her or his greatest potential.
Julie is a member of the North Carolina Writers’ Network and the Freelancers Union.
